FIGMENT WEEKEND NYC 2014
On June 7th and 8th, 2014, FIGMENT New York kicked off another amazing summer of free art and events on Governors Island in New York Harbor, with the FIGMENT NYC Event. It was amazing, as we welcomed 26,656 visitors who engaged with hundreds of participatory art projects in every imaginable medium. Every day for the rest of the summer (until September 21) you can visit the island to play minigolf, relax in our City of Dreams Pavilion, explore our interactive sculptures, and play in our TreeHouse. Take the ferry from Manhattan or Brooklyn and enjoy one of New York's best kept secrets, a 30 acre newly-renovated park with panoramic views of the city and the statue of liberty.
As NYC's largest participatory art festival, Figment is a free, weekend-long, annual interactive art event on NYC's Governors Island. For one weekend each summer, it transforms Governors Island into a large-scale collaborative artwork – and then it’s gone.
